Our Office Inauguration

Our Office Inauguration

We opened our first office in Wellington, where the heart of decision-making is in Aotearoa New Zealand on 27th of May 2022.

This is an important organisational milestone in terms of having a contact, focal point, for refugee background communities across the country, from where decision-making can be influenced towards brighter futures for refugee background communities.

We counted with the presence of entities such as the Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, the New Zealand Police, the New Zealand Red Cross, a serving Member of Parliament, and our communities through the representation of our members from Auckland, Waikato, Palmerston North / Manawatu, Wellington and Canterbury.

HRC, MSD, NZRC, MEC, NZPOL, and NZNRA members attended the event.

The event was an important opportunity to revisit the importance of working collectively with our communities at identifying and addressing challenges of key concern to achieve brighter settlement and resettlement journeys across Aotearoa New Zealand.
